Dr. Sarah Ruback, CEO of St. Christopher's Inc.
I met Christina at a conference. I was alone and brand new in my CEO role. Chris immediately took it upon herself to support me both professionally and personally. She assisted me with sound business, organizational, and technical advice in an efficient and proactive manner. She can distill complex problems swiftly due her depth of experience, and because she is as caring as she is competent.
She coached me with key leadership tools, including introducing me to stoicism. This taught me that we don't control the world around us, only how we respond to what we are given. This helped me to be a more consistent positive, productive leader and person. I have had several coaches in my development - Chris is the comprehensive best.

Louis Guard, VP and General Counsel, Hobart & William Smith Colleges
I hired Michelle in an interim HR leadership role initially as we continued our search for the AVP of Human Resources. Michelle quickly became a trusted advisor to senior staff and many other leaders at the Colleges. It was immediately clear Michelle has a wealth of experience and knowledge and handles challenging organizational problems in thoughtful ways. No issue or person is too small to matter. She is an ethical, values-driven, strategic thinker who adds value to the organizations she works with. It was for these reasons and her ability to develop meaningful relationships across the Colleges that we asked her to remain on as the permanent AVP of Human Resources for Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Elizabeth Williamson, Artistic Director and Co-CEO, Geva Theatre
I cannot recommend Christina Gullo highly enough! She was Geva Theatre’s board chair during a crucial two years for the company, from 2022-24. I joined the theatre as Artistic Director one year after the Covid shutdowns, and Christina became board chair that same summer. My co-CEO, our Executive Director, left the company for a new position at a larger theatre one year later.
This meant that Christina was our board chair as we were 1) first assessing the impact the Covid shutdowns had had on the business model, 2) as I was onboarding as the new Artistic Director, and then 3) as we embarked on the search for a new Executive Director. I relied very heavily on Christina’s expertise in Executive leadership during all of those transitions.
Geva was also in the middle of a strategic planning process, which had been being led internally by our Executive Director, when he moved to his new position. The timeline was set for us to present the strategic framework to the board before our next Executive Director had started at the company, and Christina stepped into the breach, working with me, our senior leadership team, and our board taskforce to move that strategic plan forward in the interim.
When I arrived, the two main areas of concern internally at the company were around the business model and company culture. Christina was invaluable in moving forward the work the senior team and I did on assessing the programmatic model and moving to adjust it, and kept the company focused on improving culture, via working to set compensation benchmarks, improving communication and transparency, and working to improve HR. Under her leadership, the strategic framework focused on making those shifts, and incorporating Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access and Anti- Racism work throughout the framework.
Christina is an invaluable leader, colleague and thought partner. She is brilliant, always keeping the larger picture in mind and homes in on the next steps needed to achieve strategic goals. I count myself very fortunate to have worked with her as our board chair her and I cannot recommend her highly enough!
