The Situation
Villa of Hope
When the Villa of Hope experienced the loss of their HR leader, President and CEO, Carolyn Carl, immediately engaged True North Executive Solutions to provide interim leadership coverage to the HR team. This support included a deep dive Comprehensive HR Evaluation of the HR function and facilitation of strategy for the HR department. In addition to ensuring compliance, a Comprehensive HR Evaluation can be a powerful tool in supporting organizations journey to excellence!
The Strategy
Met with CEO to confirm overarching need and goal of evaluation.
Met with HR team members together and individually to understand their concerns, unmet needs and gain their perspective on strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Established open door policy and transparent communication.
Conducted Comprehensive HR Evaluation of key areas (talent acquisition, employee experience, employee development, employee relations, total rewards, strategy, technology/integration and automation of systems)
Communicated results and recommendations (immediate, short-term, long-term) to CEO, HR Committee of the Board of Directors and the HR team.

The Impact
Specific outcomes included:
✅Prevented additional turnover in the HR team and stabilized the department.
✅ Led the HR team in creating their strategy map in alignment with the organization's strategy goals.
✅ Designed the HR team structure to support organizational strategy.
✅ Completed major HR projects, including a comprehensive agency-wide compensation analysis, preparing for upcoming changes in minimum hourly and salary rates.
✅ Facilitated the successful search, hire, and onboarding of a new Sr. HR Director and Chief Operating Officer.
✅ Saved VOH approximately $25K by eliminating the need for external support in hiring HR and other C-suite leaders.
